Q. The Web said that there was no record found for this employer, but it states that there are records on the database. How do I find out what employers are on the database?
The Work Number was designed to protect the privacy of the individuals whose records are on this database. We want to avoid giving out information -- to just anyone on the Web -- who may not have a legitimate business purpose to locate someone. This business service is designed primarily for credit application, mortgage application and job application processing. Usually an individual must provide the name of employer on the applications. If you get this message, you may try a varied spelling of the employer name or check to see if the Parent corporation name is listed on our Web site, but not the subsidiary or "nickname" that the employee gave you.
